啟用 DELL GX260 內建 COM2 的方法

在某次維修附屬在 CNC 機台內的 DELL GX260 電腦，有兩個 DB-9 COM Port 與機台連線
一個是 OnBoard 的，另一個是從主機板內的接頭用排線接到介面卡檔板
基本上是滿常見的狀況

不過在碰到另一台 GX260 沒有額外增加 COM2 檔板的電腦

卻發現在 BIOS 內只有看到一個 COM 1
經過一番的折騰，才發現原廠的排線是有玄機的
想要買到已停產電腦的選購配件可是難上加難
若要用一般市面的排線來代替就需要弄清楚接腳的規格與如何啟用

Answer:
Pins 1 through 9 on Dell's 12(-1)pin header are numbered identical to a DE-9 serial port, with additional pins 11 & 12 acting as an "enable" or "present" signal to the BIOS for the additional com port. Pin 10 in missing.

Pins 11 & 12 need to be tied together to enable COM2.
Now, when you reboot & enter BIOS Setup, you will find settings options for two(2) comports instead of just one.
